Best I have had in the DC area Growing up in Alabama we bar-b-qued all the time. I know good bar-b-que when I taste it. Willard's is not the typical chain stuff you get from a can. It ain't like they cooked back in the '60s but is it pretty darn good. Go hungry or plan to bring half you meal home, portions are generous. The peanut butter pie was nothing to brag about but everything else was very good. [17 Nov 2004 11:07:45]

Out of this World! I love this BBQ! The brisket is "melt in your mouth" delicious, and sides are the best I've had here in this part of the country. The green beans are especially good. [24 Aug 2005 15:42:49]

Absolutely the Best BBQ in Town...Buy their Sauce Willard's is by far our favorite. We even drive out from DC just for their terrific sauces to buy and bring home. And, they have SWEET Tea. [06 Dec 2005 13:37:07]

Not real Bar-b-que Growing up in Texas, I love real Pit BBQ, and this is not it, having lived in North Carolina, this is not it, this is a tasteless version for city dwellers who have never tasted smoked meats. [09 Dec 2005 07:10:36]

Good Stuff For the Area We all know we are not living in Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee or anywhere near Kansas City. So if you keep this in mind, Willard's is the best of what you can find in the area considering we have either lived or visited the other places and sampled their smoked meats. This is good stuff. The kids will like it and so will the grown ups. Keep in mind portions are large, kids can share one dish together. [18 Feb 2006 13:48:46]

Pulled Pork GREAT... RIB's SO SO Willard's isn't bad considering where we are and the fact that good bbq is hard to find. The pulled pork, brisket, and chicken is really tasteful. The ribs aren't as juicy and the meat does not fall off the bone like it should. Sauces are fantastic as well. Still very good for the area. Will definately be going back again and again. Not that bad for this far north. Being from Texas - it was close to home but only near to the real thing. While the food and sauce ws tasty I was disappointed in the brisket. I have to add the portions where large and service was good. We went on a Saturday and were lucky to have arrived early, it got crowded after 6:45pm. Again for this area it is worth the trip. Fantastic Value for Lunch $4.50 for a HUGE pulled Pork Sandwich (without sides) is the best value in the area, especially if you eat lunch daily in the area. I was spending $7 at Dave's for a Pulled Pork sandwhich (without sides) half as big which wasn't as satisfying for the appetite or the wallet. (I still love Dave's as well however). For Lunch I think I will be back here daily. [06 Dec 2006 14:27:29]

Finally Found a Good BBQ Eatery! Fantastic! Love the tangy baked beans, too. The cole slaw is average, like most in this area, but we come here for the barbecue! (Only KFC seems to make good cole slaw.) The sandwiches are so large that my husband and I take one home and cut it in half to share. We convinced our daughter, who had given up on finding barbecue that appealed to her picky palate, to try Willard's. She is now a loyal customer. [23 Dec 2006 20:26:15]
