Indian Fields Tavern The dish I had was outstanding as was the atmosphere and the friendliness of the male host. Indian Fields is a lovely Tavern. However, the portion served for the portobello mushroom, swiss chard, and pasta dish was skimpy at best. I was shocked and insulted to see how small the $16.95 entree was. It was delicious, but I can honestly say it was gone after about 6 bites. My partner's meat dish was ample, but the vegetables were also extremely modest. I do not see that four Brussels sprouts and a couple of tablespoons of potatoes constitute a serving. [03 Aug 2003 21:30:11]

Get Out of Town and Dine Well There really is no other dining experience like Indian Fields Tavern. Start with a relaxing drive down scenic route 5. The grounds make you want to linger. The menu is moderately priced and the amazing dishes described as "Innovative Virginian" cuisine will leave you full and content. The dining rooms with hardwood floors and original artwork have a soothing ambiance. IFT is time tested since 1987, now with new chef/owner Erich von Gehren (a former Wash. DC veteran chef). He has ramped up the menu to highlight regional and seasonal ingredients. A memorable experience! Great food. [03 Nov 2004 16:36:24]

A GOURMET SURPRISE IN THE COUNTRY The ambience in this tavern which was converted from an old country farm house is conducive to a superb dining experience. There are not distractions. It is very convenient from Richmond, Williamsburg, Petersburg, and the Tidewater area. The service is superior. Local foods are included in the menus which are international in flavor. My family and friends are frequent diners there. [20 Jun 2007 20:04:55]
