Elegant N. VA / DC Style Dining in Culpeper, VA
We, in late April 2006, dined at and will go back to Foti’s in Culpepper. The appetizers and deserts, however, were pricey, but good. We thought the vanilla poached lobster with Johny cakes appetizer was a unusual and good.

We liked our four meals:
1) Lamb loin & lamb sausage with tzatzikie sauce- tender & tasty. 2)Paella with lobster - large portion, good flavor, not bland like some paellas. 3)Australian salmon - very large portion, tasty, mild and pale orange compared to US northern salmon. 4) Surf and turf - shrimp large & tender beef perfectly cooked, but had a bland vermouth sauce.

Pots-de-creme best desert
1) Chocolate moose tower - beautifully plated, multilayered moose, tasted good, but had a detracting orange flavor . 2) Pots de creme - fantastic, three small cups of pure chocolate pleasure. 3) Apple pancake with ice cream - good but not as fancy as Foti’s other deserts.    [07 Jun 2006 21:10:55]
