Even Applebee's is better We recently moved to FC, and the Broad Street Grille had just re-opened after a brief, but puzzling, spell. It looked like exactly the kind of restaurant that both my parents and my in-laws would like, so we took the latter. It was a Saturday evening, but we were one of only three parties in the dining room. No surprise, either--the food was exceptionally unexceptional. Ambience was nonexistent; the room felt very bare and sound travelled a bit too well. I /did/ like the dozen or so photos of old Falls Church, though. But overall, like the headline says, we should have taken them to the otherwise-loathesome Applebee's down the street. [30 Apr 2003 14:20:48]

It's a Bar This place is a bar. A jukebox and a pool table, even a foosball table, should give that away. As such, the place is noisy and relatively rowdy (for sleepy Falls Church). The food is par for bar food. It can be very tasty when you are ravenous after a softball game or after several pitchers of the happy hour. As the other reviewer mentioned, the old photos of Falls Church are really cool (to me, a local). Don't expect too much, you don't have too many bars to choose from in Falls Church. Not a bad place, but go with friends Yeah this place is a dive, but that's not a bad thing! It's true that the food sucks, but the bar is all right. The bar itself is awesome -- it's like 50 feet long. They have several TVs airing sports games via satellite. The bartenders tend to be young and kind of snotty. The same is true of the company softball teams that frequent the place, but they usually get hammered and stagger out before 10. As long as you're with your own friends, this can be a great place to hang out and play pool or watch a game. [04 Nov 2005 17:48:46]
