Wings with International Flair They serve German beer in full liters and have a very unique menu with some nice healthy choices. Very friendly, clean atmosphere. [22 Nov 2003 15:58:11]

Great place for family - and friends The wings are great-- especially the cajun ones!
There's a special area for families, with kid-sized tables beside the full size ones. Toys and chalk are stocked next to a chalkboard play area-- And the kids menu is well-cooked and delicious-- my daughter eats her entire grilled cheese sandwich, and broccoli every time!
Here's hoping flying buffalo sticks around to feed us !
The TVs are large in the bar area, there are pool tables, and everything is just far enough away from the family area, that the two worlds never collide.
The waitstaff is very friendly, and the head chef and owner Sven, will always take time to say hel [25 Jun 2004 21:37:32]

Best Wings in Fairfax County!!! At first glance, The Flying Buffalo seems a quiet, unassuming neighborhood watering hole complete with an assortment of televisions requisite for any sports bar worth their salt. Upon closer inspection, however, one finds an impressive menu filled with both standard bar fare as well as ethnic dishes from Germany... including an amazing homemade Wienerschnitzle; owner/operator Sven Gierlinger's personal favorite recipe from Germany. If the menu proper provides a reason to try The Flying Buffalo, then the Buffalo wings give a reason to return. With an assortment of twelve homemade sauces to choose from, there is something for everyone [26 Jul 2004 01:38:38]

NFL Ticket?? This restaurant is a strange study in irony. Being a "Buffalo Wing" joint, one would expect to have a better "traditional" Buffalo sauce and perhaps the traditional Buffalo Beef on Weck sandwich, common in all true Buffalo wing restaurants around the country.
While the food is average to slightly above (German dishes are pricey, for this establishment) while atmosphere takes a hit. A contrived Ikea meets pool-hall mood permeates the restaurant, located in Loehman's Plaza. And while the area surrounding the Flying Buffalo is not noted for safety, the shopping center has attempted to be cleaned up.
If there is one truly bad aspect of The Flying Buffalo, it might be their poor handling of the advertised Sunday Ticket on their Direct TV system. Although the establishment is ringed by myriad televisions, one has to remark on the fact that they seem to only show three to four games -- depending on if a race is on. On my last visit to this establishment I witnessed the owner asking if he "wouldn't mind his game being changed!" Needless to say, this person left. When advertising that you have Sunday Ticket, you would think they would have more games on. Next Sunday, I'll go somewhere where they not only have the ability to show my game, but have the inclination to do s [07 Oct 2004 00:18:49]

It looked nice!!! I had heard about The Flying Buffalo, so I decided to give it a shot. I heard that it was a family style place, so I took my family and in-laws there on a Friday night. Much to my suprise most of the people there were drinking and smoking.
To be fair, the place looked nice, and for the most part it was clean.
As for the service, I wish they had a training program (maybe they do), for it was slow and mildly friendly. It was one of those places where you got the impression that they were doing you a favor.
The food was nothing special (it wasn't terrible, just nothing to write home about). And considering that there really wasn't very many people there eating, it took a good 45 minutes to get our food.
When the server never returned after droping off the food, I eventually had to go upto the smoked filled bar to get my bill. After making sure that all the beers were refilled, the personal phone call was taken, I was shocked by what happened next.
While I stood right at the bar, a server came up to the short heavy set man who I had been waiting for and told him about a table that had complained about their food. I mentally agreed, but just wanted to get my check and end this all. At this point, my mind was blown when the manager replied to the server, "Fuck them, just apologize and get rid of them." I could not believe it. I was just floored.
I eventually got my check and just lef [07 Mar 2005 08:29:03]

Wings are good, but the Restuarant is lucky to still be open Went there to see my friends band play "Loaded" (www.loadedtheband.com) and considering the establish was told there would be 40 plus people just coming to see the band (in additionto there regular Saturday attendence), they were way understaffed. The had one cook, one manager, one server and one bartender (who was the worst by far). Service was beyond horrible! It took over twenty mins just to get a bottled beer, and that wasn't from the server that was going up to the bar myself. They had no respect for the band that was playing for free for them, they didn't serve them all of the food they ordered and then tried to charge them for it anyway at the end of the night. I also found out from over hearing the rude bartender that they were lucky to be open since they have trouble keeping their Liquor license paperwork togather. The wings I got earlier in the evening were pretty good, but the food that I saw being served later in the evening wasn't looking so good All in all it was a disappointment. I would like to see a BW3's open up in our area, been to many of them around VA and they are all great and tend to have great entertainment as well as multiple big screen TV's. Drove by the other day and it looks like they may be closed, probably the best since they can't keep it togather [13 Sep 2005 12:59:56]
