A Wonderful Experience This is one of my favorite places to eat - Their service is always impeccable, their food perfect, and it has wonderful atmosphere! [19 Nov 2001 13:00:37]

Fantastic Fortunately this jewel is in my regular travel area and I NEVER MISS IT. The stuffed trout is great, but don't overlook the duck, as it is crispy and well presented. [01 Oct 2002 16:03:38]

A great Experience! We spent a lovely evening at this inn and did not feel rushed at all. The staff is excellent and the food was so very good and there was plenty of it and served in the most attractive way. I would encourage anyone in this area to give it a try! [17 Mar 2003 13:43:07]

Disappointed I have been to the Blue Stone Inn on several occasions. Each time, the atmosphere was interesting but the food was not. There are mediocre flavors, uninteresting treatments, and often my food was served just warm. In general the meal is over priced for what one gets. It is more of a local pub than real restaurant. Fantastic One of my favorite restaurants in the country. Unique, honest, unpretentious atmosphere. Fantastic to good food - everyone should have the stuffed trout at once in your lifetime. [17 Jan 2005 01:19:43]

Boot-i-full I love the Blue Stone. My grandparents live in Harrisonburg and I grew up going there on special occasions. The food is great. It may not be french cuisine, but if you're not a snob you'll recognize good tasting home-like food. The fried softshells are amazing and are only served certain times during the year. The crab cakes are excellent as well. The service is excellent and curteous and if you're a regular they're likely to know your name. [24 Feb 2005 10:22:58]

Don't Miss It!! Take it from someone who is born and raised in Harrisonburg/Rockingham County----there is no better restaurant for seafood/specialty entrees than the Blue Stone Inn. Their steaks are also very good, but not spectacualar. Try the fried scallops for the fattest, thickest, hottest you'll ever eat. The service is friendly but businesslike--they are there to get your food out hot!! [03 Dec 2005 12:46:53]

Best in area We visited the Blue Stone Inn years ago but forgot its location.Due to the miracle of PC we refound and revisited the Blue Stone Inn. It still was as good as we had remembered it with small town service and food to die for. We had the stuffed trout which was cooked and presented perfectly...and a piece of peanut butter chocolate pie to top it off. It was a perfect relaxed evening. I recommend it as THE PLACE to go in the area. [23 Feb 2007 07:07:53]

Couldn't be Bothered to Serve Us After a long trip down I 81 from NY we were looking forward to dinner at the Blue Stone Inn. The restaurant closes at 9 PM and we arrived (my mother, husband, two children and myself)at 8:20 PM. The hostess said, "we can't serve you because the oven has blown a gasket so to speak." It was obvious that she just could not be bothered. How can you look at 5 hungry people and turn them away? What an arrogant business owner. My daughters (8&9) were crushed. NEVER AGAIN. Drive further down the road and eat at Downtown 56. Now, that was worth the trip! [09 Jul 2007 18:31:38]
