Good Mexican food, good atmosphere El Charro is an authentic Mexican-American restaurant. Dishes are distinctly Mexican in flavor, but adapted nicely to an American audience. Service is a high point; I'm a regular there, and have never gotten bad service. It has always been good to excellent. El Charro's lunch specials are well put together and affordable. After dark, prices go up and the cooking is more elaborate, but the values still are good. All in all, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant this side of Dallas. [03 Jul 2002 06:44:15]

I miss El Charro!! I graduated from JMU in May 2002 and it has been so long since I've eaten at El Charro. I loved the Bean Burritos! The chips were awesome- and I am El Charro deprived now! [14 Mar 2003 22:33:50]

Nice Food, even nicer prices! We went on vacation on the area and stopped a couple of times to have lunch and early dinner. Nice food, cute place, family friendly, and also large selection of beer. You must visit this place at least once, if you are in the area. [09 Feb 2007 09:11:36]

amazing Cheap beer on Wednesdays, great food, great prices, lunch specials are great. Go for the Nachos Texanos - $8, delicious and will feed two people easily. Sundays around noon get busy and the service slows down. [06 Jun 2007 19:29:59]
