Ruined our Valentines Day
Well, folks, Harvest of India is one my my most favorite restaurants - until today that is!!! I took my valentine out to dinner hoping for a flavorful and spicy Indian feast. The food was great - but the service sucked!! It seems like the owner of this restaurant (who, I heard, also owns The Supper Club..) transfered reigns to a few incompetent, egoistic, and lazy gents (??) to service the clientele here!! We heard and saw these guys fighting (not sure why), and arguing with each other in the dining area - in front of the customers.

Although the place was not jam-packed, the service was extremely slow. They also forgot to bring some extra bread we requested in the beginning. Anyway, after we finished eating - despite a couple of reminders, it took them 40 minutes to get our 'check'.

Now, here is the icing on the cake folks - On top of not fulfilling the complete order, they argued that they have to charge for "everything that's ordered - as it's already in the system", and that they can't
"change" the order in the system. They did went ahead and charged for the items we did not get (and, hence, did not eat). Well, to make this fiasco less embarassing - I just went ahead and paid the bill.

Too bad they lost a customer for life.

Ohh... on the other day, they declined to honor one of their coupons, too!!!    [14 Feb 2004 23:42:11]

CHEATING CUSTOMERS ON CARRYOUTS
FOLKS. Be careful when you order a carryout from Harvest of India, Herndon, VA. They charge a 20% tip to the carryout order. I did not notice it yesterday. I ordered two appetizers priced $4.50 and $5.95 and they charged me $13.34 on it. I called back and they said that it is something that the bank automatically does, charges a tip of 20% but it comes off in 1 or 2 days. Well that is a lie, as I went back to another carryout 10 days ago and instead of $50 they charged $60. He said the manager will come and talk to me this evening, we will see what happens. They obviously do it to all their customers, I am a realtor and I think it is unethical to do something like this without letting a client know, in my dictionary it is called Cheating. If any of you have ordered carryouts please double check your order and post complaint to BBB or the better Business Bureau. I am going to do the same. Please also email me if this has happened to you.    [16 Jul 2007 12:06:15]

Great Food, Great Service
I have eaten at Harvest of India probably 10-15 times over the last 4 years and the experience has been great (from 2003 to present).

They have great food and good service. Most of the time I go for their excellent lunch buffet. One time at dinner, I used an Entertainment Guide coupon with no trouble. I have not had any problems with their service.

If you like Indian food, I recommend you give them a try - especially at lunch.    [17 Jul 2007 16:20:50]
