The Upper Crust The Grille has always had a decent menu with a good variety. The challenge has been in selecting entrees that live up to expectations for the price. On a recent visit, I tasted their Halibut over mushroom risotto special. The halubut was fresh and tasty, although a bit meager. The risotto, often a favorite dish when I dine out, was luke warm, dried out, and miniscule. My wife, however, enjoyed a wonderfully prepare filet mignon.
The biggest surprise on our recent visit (a personal celebration), was the wine list. While large, the list has become quite expensive. (Very little under $50.)
Contrary to billing, the view from the large windows of the restaurant are of a patio and planters. The alleged panoramic view of the golf course and distant Potomac River is best seen by standing on a table [18 May 2002 10:29:00]

Pseudo-fancy This place passes itself off as a 5-star resort and restaurant, but I don't get it. The food's OK, but not great. The view is OK, but not great. Everything is OK. Not great. Like a Hyundai with a really nice paint job. [31 Jul 2003 17:49:58]

Lansdowne grill I find the entire Resort to be a wonderful place to eat and stay. I think there are some areas that need tweaking and perhaps some upgrading, but overall I have had a wonderful time every time I go there. You all should actually try the Sunday Brunch at the Riverside Hearth, now that is 5 star quality! [28 Feb 2004 14:53:41]
