The Place Locals McKeevers is where true McLean locals meet for good bar food, darts and weekend music. This is McLean without the ritz and glitz. McKeever's is strictly jeans and cold drafts. People who grew up in the area will most likely run into old friends there and anyone can get up a game of darts.
The only downside to McKeever's is that you must be able to tolerate smoke. It's unavoidable and your clothes WILL need washing afterwards. [03 Jan 2002 11:25:11]

Nice Local Bar Great place to have a beer and some steamed shrimp. Can be a little smokey (it is Virgina, after all). [31 Jul 2003 17:34:36]

GREAT UK-Style Pub Nestled in the far end of the McLean business district, McKeever's is a little oasis for the work-weary commuter. Albeit, this can be a smoker's paradise, the low-key, friendly atmosphere duly compensates.
The music piped through the high quality sound system is usually first-rate! You will hear anything from trendy Alternative, to tasteful, (mostly British) Classic Rock, Jazz or Blues.
Most patrons are McLean residents, but the place is inviting to anyone having experienced the small, friendly, Pub atmosphere in Northern Europe or the UK.

Overall Excellent Pub McKeever's is in many ways first rate. It has great food, beer,(drinks in general), ambiance, and local people. I found that having darts and a few beers there turns out to be really friendly and a good time. During the day Mckeever's is also a great family place, especially for brunch or afternoon glass of wine but don't bring your family in at night. It gets quite well bar- ish and is it very smoky! Finally the drink selection there is great but the prices will eventually burn a major hole in your pocket. Either way I can guarantee that almost any customer would greatly enjoy their visit to McKeever's Pub. {November 2005 [27 Nov 2005 19:42:34]

McLean Watering hole the place isn't that bad. It's in some shoppoing center where Giant is (off of Chain Bridge Rd), right across the street from Total Beverage. I even ran into some dude that lived in my dorm hall when I was a sophmore at Mason. A good place to sit back and get drunk, but not a lot of hot girls go in there...but where else are you going to go in McLean...

Solid local watering hole. This place has been around for years. This is McLean but is not the expected snooty stuff that some portions are. This is basically described as Cheers for McLean locals...the ones who have grown up in the area or those who wish they had.
The food is generally good...not 5 stars but then this is a place made for drinking, darts and good times...oh and you might get hungry while you are there.
Smoke is a factor since the air flow is not great so don't wear your nice duds there. Jeans and a shirt will work just fine. You will need a shower and wash your clothes when you are done....but hey...it is a bar.
The gang of folks there is friendly. There is not a 'click' of locals there so everyone blends in.
One nice thing is that the music is not overly loud which actually allows for nice conversation.
The beer is always cold, Guinness is always good. Drinks are not watered down. The wait staff is generally very good unless they get packed then a bit of a wait is to be expected.
I have been going to McKeevers for over 15 years and will keep going until they close the doors.
It is worth the time to stop in if you are in the area even for one beer and check it out. [02 Dec 2006 09:06:17]

Best Pub in McLean and Tyson's Corner Great bar food: burgers/sandwiches/salads/chili and a home made soup of the day, etc.. and they ahve a great brunch on Sundays from 10 to 1. Very friendly owners and staff. Not a huge selection of beer but all the standards are there. I love their burgers. Has 2 large TVs for sporting events and NO SMOKING any more. My wife and eat there at least 5/6 times a month. We've been regulars for the last 5 years. [09 Apr 2007 12:13:26]

Great Pub Ok, so it won't make Gourmet magazine, but the food is consistently excellent and the service cannot be beat. If you want a friendly UK-style pub with great food, this is it. That's probably why you see suits and jeans there all day. [16 Jul 2007 13:58:55]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Best Reuben in DC area, Pub Burger is awesome and the home fries are good enough be be their own business!

There's a new champ in town! There is only one place to kick back in Mclean after a hard day at the office or just a hard day at home or anywhere is McKeever's Pub. [08 Aug 2007 16:55:14]
