Best seafood I have ever had. This was perhaps the best dining experience my husband and I have ever had on a vacation. We arrived around 5 pm and were seated. The food was unbelieve.Everything we had was so fresh the slaw was crisp, the hushpuppies melt in your mouth. The flounder was fabulous and the crab cakes were wonderful.PLEASE go and visit Bill's. You will be glad you did. [17 Jan 2003 14:59:50]

Fantastic, Local Seafood (Family Style) Good, fresh, inexpensive, and plentiful seafood in a family-style atmosphere. No pretense, just quality food provided by friendly folks. Newport News is nothing to write home about, but Bill's is worth the visit if you're in the general area. I believe Bill's doesn't accept checks or credit cards, so you may want to call first to be sure. [24 Feb 2003 11:24:04]

Neat place! The owner is friendly, and is usually there when we go! I love the nautical decor! The wait staff is efficient, and they're friendly. I usually try something different every time I go, but I love the broiled flounder with slaw, fries and hush puppies! The various platters are a good value as well.
They do accept checks, but I'm not sure about bank cards. I hope that they have Gift Certificates, too! :) [29 Apr 2003 11:54:48]

Great! Great family atmosphere and good eat'n. I am a big man and their small portion was more than enough. The fried scallops are excellent and the prices are great. You do need to know they only accept cash or check. [12 Jul 2004 17:16:49]

SCRRRRUMPIOUS!!!!!! A great place to eat fresh, authentic southern seafood with the family. Bill's Seafood is a favorite eatery of the locals. I can see why. The food and SERVICE are presented with genuine southern hospitality. Every guest is treated with friendly, attentive, efficient service. I cannot get enough of those hushpuppies, slaw, sweet tea and CRAB CAKES! [27 Dec 2005 21:39:13]

Best Seafood On the East Coast My husband and I visited Bill's in 1991, we never forgot this wonderful restaurant. We drove back (300 miles}on Feb.24 2007 to Newport News just to see if it was the same as in 1991. Guess what? Wonderful fish, slaw was great, crisp and not so mayonaisey, hushpuppies just right, well everything we had was so good, we just might move to Newport News. The owner very friendly the whole staff was attentive. This is not a fancy restaurant, just good down home seafood. Please go to Bill's, you will love it. [16 Mar 2007 13:24:43]
