great food w/ appealing interior
My first time there was great. Service and friendly staff. Most important is always the food and cleanliness. The sushi rolls were tasty and pretty. I suggest sake (japanese alcohol) to eat w/ the meal.    [15 Nov 2005 15:02:17]

The Maki Rolls were delicious. It melts in your mouth if you know how to appreciate sushi or even if it's your first time! The lunch menu's are great! I love the udon noodles especially since the weather is colder now. Great place to take a friend!    [25 Nov 2005 10:37:38]

Wonderful!!
We live in the neighborhood and it has become our favorite place - we've introduced many friends to Ariake and they all love it.
Nobody has mentioned the attention to detail of the decor - everything is first class: granite table tops; Japanese style with either redwood, cedar or mahogany finishing, including privacy walls that look like they might have been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright; the sushi bar has a warm, cozy atmosphere* - and I love the lighting over the bar.
Outside - the soothing sound of the waterfall into the pond and the clean lines of Japanese style "white rock landscaping" make the outdoor seating a great place to have lunch or end your busy day.

Don't miss this hidden gem
You'll find Ariaki is a surprising oasis near a nondescript strip mall, all the sushi is excellent and there is a great variety of other dishes for all tastes. The ambiance is very nice, sleek and modern but still cozy. It's become a favorite weekly spot for a night out or takeout after a long day of work. Our favorite
Ariake offers outstanding Japanese food for a reasonable price. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff is attentive. We come here regularly and the quality has always been consistent. It can be quiet during the week--which has its advantages for the guests--but then we always start to worry that this place will go out of business, and that would be a real shame.
