Meat and Garlic Can't Be Bad
It is impossible to have a bad meal at Sal's. Their meat sauce is fantastic. They don't skimp on the meat or the garlic. The lasagna is luscious as well.    [28 Jun 2006 18:19:14]

Best Italian Restaurant in Rutland, VT (and Wallignford, VT)
Do you want whole wheat pizza and awesome tasting creamy Italian house dressing? They have the best in town hands down... The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy, about 13 booths or so and the service is great. The chefs at Sal's are hard working and the portions are always hot and large so you can take a doggy bag home and have it the next day!    [01 Jul 2006 15:47:28]

Good Food...
The food is great and the service is awesome but, the management could use some work. The owners (the one we saw, tall brown hair, with a bad temper) needs to realize that they have awesome employees and that they deserve to be treated better.    [26 Jul 2006 17:28:31]

Love Sal's
Mmmm...the fra Diavlo - red garlic sauce - scallopini. I can't decide what is my favorite! Best restaurant for miles. I drive to Rutland (2.5 hours) just to eat there.    [30 Mar 2007 16:25:16]

Sals South
There are two Sals locations...one in downtown Rutland and one further down south on rt. 7 in Wallingford. But both are equally amazing! The atmosphere is that which you would want and expect from a classic, "local flavor" Italian restaurant, good selection of wine, huge portions of a wide variety of food and wine and very personable service. Sal's South is my favorite of the two (no offense Rutland) but being in the cozy town of Wallingford adds to the atmosphere - small, but relaxing and comfortable (plus a great wait-staff).    [26 Sep 2007 21:48:11]
