Look no reviews! After passing through various owners it has lost any charm it once had. I have tried it several times and I just can't lift a finger to say much of anything at all about the mediocre food and worse service. Pass and go for fish tacos at the tiny shop behind their building. [05 Feb 2003 17:09:40]

The Best on Bainbridge This place has been written up several times since the change over some 4 years ago. Zagat's new 2003 edition says it's possibly the best on Bainbridge!
Best Places Northwest says customers haven't suffered from the change. Best Place Seattle gives Cafe Nola thumbs up. Articles have been written in the Seattle Times telling people to get on a ferry and go to Cafe Nola. (Dinner Date & Sunset Cruise 5/3/01). Check out Citysearch and see what tough Seattle restaurant critic John Hitenberger says about the place.
We are locals and have several friends who appreciate the hard work that goes into running a top notch place like Cafe Nola. We are regulars and will remain loyal regardless of reviews written to ChefMoz. Look around in different publications and get the real scoop on Cafe Nola. [22 Mar 2003 19:29:49]

Better than ever! I eat at Cafe Nola regularly and there are always many wonderful choices from the seasonally changing menu. The food is fresh and inventive. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The dining room is intimate and inviting. [24 Mar 2003 12:59:00]

Great food and service. The above review does not reflect the great food and charm, and service of Cafe Nola on Bainbridge Island. We eat there at least once a week and find it the best cafe on the island, bar none. The food is reasonably priced, the service is excellent, and the menu, and food, is excellent, or better. Try it once and you will see. [28 Mar 2003 11:44:11]

Nola's great We've eaten at Nola over the years in its various incarnations, and the current one is the best yet. Try Sunday brunch. [07 Jul 2003 17:01:04]

*SJC on Cafe Nola! Cafe Nola is wonderful. The menu changes seasonally and the service is warm and always welcoming. A great place for locals or folks visiting from out of town. An easy walk from the ferry.

This place is great!!! We have been going to cafe Nola for years and we live in Seattle. The boat ride gives time to wind down from work and we always get dessert to go with forks and eat it on the sundeck of the ferry as we watch the sun set behind the mountains. Try the scallops and the bread pudding. Awesome location with the best outdoor seating you have ever had. Pick a nice week day night and go early to sit outside and get back on the boat just befor sun down. [09 Jun 2006 19:12:46]

Mediocre I agree with the review that this place has lost its charm. I was disappointed to hear that this restaurant had changed owners. It was my favorite cafe on island. Now it has turned into "fusion" food. Not my favorite. [27 Jul 2006 18:29:22]

Absolutely Fabulous! Just before our scheduled visit to Silverdale WA, I watched Get-a-Way weekends on the Food Network. To my surprise, Cafe Nola was featured. Giada, the hostess for the show, looked like she was in heaven while eating the French Toast, which the restaurant is known for. So of course, my husband and I vowed to go there on our visit.
We made two trips to the restaurant. On our first visit, I delighted in the scallops which were served over delicious grits. The presentation was wonderful and the taste to die for!
The second trip was intentionally made on a Sunday because it was our intention to order the French toast which at the time was only served at Saturday and Sunday brunch. Believe me, the French toast ia a must have for anyone eating at Cafe Nola. There were three thick pieces of toast (which is made with Challah bread) served with three pieces of bacon and fruit. The portions were so generous that we doubted that we could finish them. However, we managed.
My son-in-law ordered Eggs Benedict with Salmon. It seemed like a strange combination, but he loved it.
All of us went away completely satisfied. My husband and I had only one regret: That the Cafe Nola wasn't located in our home town. [02 Nov 2007 12:18:46]
