Fantastic Best restaurant in town. Got married in Leavenworth and go back to Katz two times a year for anniversaries. Great ambience.Great salad bar. Very helpful staff. [08 Feb 2005 21:16:46]

OK Nothing special to write home about. A little pricy for the amount served and $5 extra for a 1 trip salad bar that had only salad and 2 side dished was a bit much. Ambiance was a bit worn looking. 2nd time in a row I was slightly dissapointed. [29 Nov 2005 17:47:26]

Decent, but there's got to be better I agree with the above writer who mentions the Katz looking a little worn. I ate there Dec. of 2004. Don't know if they've improved, but our experience was lack luster.
Decent food. Prices were a little high for the mediocre food quality and so-so service.
A decent place to eat if you're just hungry, but there's got to be a better choice in this wonderful Bavarian town. [19 Dec 2005 12:58:11]

Awesome food and drink Ive been there three times now and I would say 2 good meals 1 not so great. the service is just fine the waiters look the part. They might not have been doing cartwheels around the tables, but the food and drinks came in good timing and thats all I really care about. If you're going to dine there I would personally opt for the higher priced menu items, they seem to be the best. The one bad experince I had was with the prawns. You could get better prawns at skippers, but lets be honest you are a long way from the ocean. [25 Mar 2006 14:16:50]

The Best of the Best Every time we make the trip to Leavenworth we make a ritual stop at the Katzenjammers Restaurant. Our service is always excellent and the food is amazing. My favorites on the menu are the Chicken Misha and the Seafood Fettuccini. I can always expect excellent flavor and a very knowledgeable staff. When it comes to appetizers, I have had excellent clams and really enjoyed my prawns. My husband typically gets the Prime Rib or a Rib Eye and he is always pleased. We love the salad bar--the choices and cleanliness are unmatched as far as I am concerned. As far as drinks are concerned, they pour a stiff drink and you should be prepared for that. Try it! I promise if the manager (Lynn, with the silver hair) is there you wont have any issues--she takes great care of their customers. [26 Dec 2006 16:46:49]

Weak Why have a salad bar with so few choices? Steak was so-so and overpriced for the serving. Sole came cold. [27 Dec 2006 15:30:27]

Katz is looking it's age! I've been to the Katzenjammers probably 10 times over the past 20 years and I've got to say it's starting to look a little worn. The salad bar was not looking it's best with very little in the way of choice selection. Give the place kudos on their steaks though as I've never out of there disapointed after eating one of their steaks. And this time it was, like always, cooked just the way I asked for it! The bar is smallish but the atmosphere is homey and the drinks are strong. You get your monies worth while waiting in the bar for your table. Overall, I'd have to rate the Katz down a bit from previous visits...it's just starting to look rough around the edges...but it's still a pretty good dining experience. [13 Jul 2007 16:41:04]
