Food's Not Bad, Service Is
With the hours of 7AM-3PM, we assumed that this would be a good place to stop for breakfast. I think I'd like my money back.

The food was good, but I could get the same food (minus the German sausages) for a lower price from, say, a Village Inn. An a la carte menu lets customers order whatever they'd like, but the prices are high, even for a tourist town like Leavenworth.

For breakfast, they offer a wide variety of waffles. However, if you order from the waffle selection, expect nothing more than the waffle, because that's all you'll get unless you specifically order more.

The food was well-prepared and had pleasant flavor. That much I must admit. I ordered a German-style sausage with my waffle, and, though it had more pepper than I expected, it was good. The various berry syrups were very good, and I suggest you try all of them, though for those who prefer the classic maple syrup, Sandy's is one of few restaurants where the maple syrup is served warm.

However, the staff was clearly annoyed with our presence. Their priorities centered around conversing with each other and with the one local who came in for coffee. It was difficult to get their attention, and my requests were met by eye-rolls more than once. I felt unwelcome. It also appeared that the owners were cutting corners with the menus and decorations as if attempting to save money, which made the price and value of the food slightly suspect to me.

If you can get a discount and get your breakfast for carry-out, then Sandy's is not bad. Otherwise, I suggest finding someplace else to eat.    [20 May 2007 23:49:13]

Sandy's is a great place!
We enjoyed our dining experience here. Every bite was delicious and the staff was friendly and outgoing. We were tourist and felt very welcome here. We'll definitely eat here again!    [21 Apr 2008 14:44:01]

Stick with waffles
My wife had waffles and were ok. I had German sausage, eggs, hash browns. The sausage was of the brot type. The hash brown potatoes were not hash browns but a browned slab of mashed potatoes. The coffee was sub-par. Stick with the house specialty-waffles and pass on the coffee and you will be ok.    [25 May 2008 17:05:32]

OK, not great
Stopped in for breakfast, was served by a very nice waitress who was attentive and polite without being obtrusive. The food though was unimpressive- the waffle made me think of an eggo, the "german sausage" was more like a spiced version of a store-bought polish sausage and quite -I guess you're supposed to say "rich"- and a bit pricey for that. All in all, you can get something to eat here but I don't think I'd bring very high expectations along. I can vouch for one waitress being very good though-    [26 Jun 2008 11:06:12]
