Wonderful Thai Although we live in Gig Harbor, we gladly brave the Tacoma Narrows Bridge traffic to dine at this wonderful Thai restaurant in downtown Tacoma. The authentic Thai food, prepared by sisters, Yim and Tuc, is absolutely wonderful and they'll prepare it to your "individual spice" tolerance. The service is efficient and friendly and the ambiance comfortable and relaxing with a touch of sophistication you usually don't find at Asian restaurants. I highly recommend this jewel of a Thai restaurant. [20 Dec 2004 18:02:09]

Popular Lunch spot I work at a downtown business and it's not unusual to find 3-4 groups of us in there each afternoon. The service is quick, the food is wonderful and the people are friendly. We also head there after work when we want a quick bite before heading off to shows in Seattle or at the Pantages. All in all its the perfect small family run Thai business. [21 Sep 2005 16:24:43]

Galanga Disaster I was at event in The Murano Hotel Feb 13-17. One of our outings was dinner at The Galanga Thai Restaurant. I was one of the first of our group to arrive and the owner asked what party I was with. Then he asked if there were 34 of us. I told him I didn't know and he belligerently told me "there better be." Hello? By that time the rest of the group wandered in and we were seated. The waitress gave us menus and was in the process of taking drink orders when the owner came over mumbling. I guess reservations were made for 34 and at the time of the incident there were 22-24 there. It was Valentine's night. I told him that others were coming and he yelled at me that he wasn't going to hold tables all night. I said, "Sir, it isn't necessary for you to yell at me. I'm just trying to give you information." By then, the person 'in charge' of our group realized there was a problem and stepped up to talk to him. He said we were unprofessional diners and she told him we would not come back next year. He said we should leave right then and told us to get the hell out of there. So a stunned bunch of ladies stood up and got ourselves out of there. If this is the best downtown Tacoma has to offer, I'm NOT impressed. [04 Mar 2008 01:55:27]

Great Meal We love the place ... great meal, friendly staff and owners. Next time we will order the fresh garden spring rolls and a dish to share. The best! We will return and tell our friends. [23 Jun 2009 16:58:30]
