Great Food!!
The food is great!
I'd been traveling for 2 months when I got to Hanoi. Actually I was a bit fed up with the local food, and really missed western food.
Al Fresco was just perfect!

Thanks!    [07 Jun 2002 10:15:44]

Best Ribs in Vietnam
You must try their ribs. It is really as good as they say "the best in Vietnam".    [08 Jan 2003 15:42:23]

Maybe the Best Ribs Anywhere!
We're from North Carolina in the USA - home to some of the best ribs in the world, and we get suspicious of anyone who says they have great ribs or great barbecue.

You just gotta try these -- maybe worth taking the trip to Ha Noi (or at least making the effort if you're in the neighborhood) for these ribs.    [11 Jan 2003 17:24:14]

Reminders of Home
I'd been traveling in Asia for weeks and we found Al Fresco. To walk in and see multiple bottles of Hershey's chocolate syrup sitting on the counter, was heaven!
Some elements are imported and some are done with local ingredients, so it is a great cultural mix. Great for that night when you just need something that you're used to.    [29 Jan 2004 12:47:19]

Never Again
Living in Hanoi, there is a lot to choose from, and after recommendations I went to Al Fresco's. I ordered food with my friend, and we didn't even finish the last bite when the bill was on our table. (The foreign manager was standing two meters away, so knew what happened). Just because there is a big group coming, you shouldn't kick out two people. They should have said in advance that they needed the space, and we could have sat somewhere else.

I'll never go there again.    [14 Jul 2004 21:41:51]

A Hanoi Staple
I remember when Al Fresco's first opened; it was a god send for all us starving foreigners! The food is wonderful, and though I usually ordered in, the ambience of the restaurant is great as well. I haven't been back in few years, but when I finally return to Hanoi, my first night's dinner will definitely be at Al Fresco's!    [23 Mar 2005 00:47:53]

Great Food/Great Staff
What a godsend to find Al Fresco's in Hanoi. Although we were enjoying Vietnam cuisine we really missed our western food. A welcome oasis on a hot afternoon - iced mango juice was the go. Great service. Waitress Bic provided excellent service. We also dined at Al Fresco's in Ho Chi Min City. Food great but enjoyed Hanoi atmosphere more.    [05 Oct 2005 09:16:30]

Very Disappointing
After reading the reviews of this particular venue I decided I would travel the long distance to experience this restaurant.

However I am very very disappointed; I found it very cold, very boring, very tense and the food was awful and overpriced.

Definitely one to miss!    [10 Oct 2006 07:14:37]

Al Frescos, Best in Vietnam
I sat down and straight away the service was excellent as being regular at Al Frescos, I know that sometimes they get busy. Only once out of many times I have been asked to move somewhere and that was on New Years Eve.    [02 Jun 2007 03:40:28]
