Just like home Six days in Hanoi, and I was dying for some Indian vegetarian food. The first trip to Khazana was fruitless, as I reached there at 4 p.m., when it was closed (it takes the last lunch order at 2). The door did not say when it would open in the evening, so I returned to Hanoi and survived the night on chocolates from the mini bar in the room.
Next evening, I marched down and reached the place at 6:30 p.m. Climbed up to the first floor, only a couple of guests there, with 7-8 staff. Ordered a North Indian vegetarian thali. Came quickly - wonderful taste, though the dishes were extremely hot (in the sense of being warm). Portions were generous, pricing quite reasonable. Tasty pickles and green chutiney. Papad was a little disappointing though. I had my fill.
Wonderful Hindi songs playing on the side. Non-intrusive staff, helpful, friendly owner came around as well.
Quite genuine food - highly recommended if you like Indian food. I just love it, of course! [28 May 2008 10:14:48]
